New insights into parking permits for Schiedam through integration of ParQ and Monit
Nieuws
- The municipality of Schiedam gets a clear geographical map display of parking permits in parking data dashboards.
- This is the result of the integration of ParQ, Qualogy's SaaS platform for parking permits, with Monit Data's Parking Monitor. In addition to a more clear display, the integration also offers the possibility to optimize parking capacity.
Schiedam, November 26, 2024. The municipality of Schiedam adds parking permit data from Qualogy's ParQ to Monit Data's Parking Monitor. With this new information, the municipality gets a clear geographical display of issued permits in the parking data dashboards. The integration of data also makes it possible to optimize the use of parking capacity by combining data on issued permits and measured parking occupancy.
Management of parking permits
Managing parking permits is a complex process. Many variables play a role such as different rates per area, maximum number of permits per district or address, waiting lists and exception addresses. Visitor permits, environmental zones and parking options in adjacent areas and on own territory (POET) must also be taken into account.
Digitalization plays a major role in this entire process. Citizens and companies want to be able to apply for and manage permits themselves online. Permits are also nowadays mainly digital instead of a vignette on the car as in the past. This requires timely updates in the parking rights database (NPR) to enable enforcement by enforcers.
Qualogy's ParQ is the solution for this complexity and digitalization in parking permits. The SaaS platform offers a user-friendly and secure environment for both municipal employees and permit holders, with minimal actions and easy integration with other systems.
"This integration is a valuable step forward for parking management in Schiedam. It enables us to make parking permit data visually clear and link it directly to parking occupancy. This allows us to make better-informed policy choices when it comes to optimizing parking capacity and reducing nuisance in busy districts, neighborhoods and/or areas. This integration also fits with our ambition to work more data-driven and future-oriented."

Integration in the Parking Monitor
The integration of ParQ and the Parking Monitor offers many benefits for municipalities. First, it provides a clear geographical map display of issued permits, available via the Parking Monitor dashboard. In addition, it makes it possible to combine information with that of other parking services in the Parking Monitor such as street and garage parking. This makes it possible, for example, to compare issued permits with measured parking occupancy in a district, and whether the number of permits needs to be adjusted. The municipality of Schiedam is the first to use this new integration between ParQ and Monit Data.
"Information about parking permits is a valuable insight available in Monit Data's Parking Monitor. The integration between Qualogy's ParQ and the Parking Monitor creates more value for both applications, which complement each other excellently for cities that want to manage multiple parking services digitally. We are pleased that through the collaboration of our teams we can provide the municipality of Schiedam with simple and easily accessible information about parking permits via one dashboard."
